MARK Christian has won as silver and a bronze at the European Track Cycling Championships in Poland.
The 17-year-old Manx Road Club rider took bronze in the junior men's individual pursuit and was part of the Great Britain team that took silver in the team pursuit on Wednesday.

Christian, who won the British pursuit title in Newport last month, qualified third fastest in the individual event with a time of 3mins 20.472secs.

He raised his game again in the evening's final, posting a time of 3m 19.683s to take bronze, three seconds faster than the silver medalist went in his final.

Manxman Peter Kennaugh was part of the GB under-23 team that qualified fastest in the men's under-23 team pursuit, stopping the clock at 4m 8secs to beat the Russian team.

'They were on a 4m 6s so they did come off that, but it was alright, there's more in there,' said Olympic Academy coach Rod Elllingworth said.

Kennaugh was riding with Mark McNally, Andy Tennnant and Olympic pursuit bronze medallist Steven Burke.

They face Russia again in the final.
